Default Sale Return Reason

The Field Sale App now respects the user’s Default Sale Return Reason from web User Settings when creating a credit note (sale return).

Setup (web)

1. Go to Settings → Users and open the field user’s settings.
2. Under Default values, set Sale return reason to the reason that should be used most often (for example Damaged, Wrong item, Excess stock).
3. Optionally set Sale Return Center if returns should go to a dedicated return warehouse.
4. Ensure the user role includes Sale Return Reason — List so the reason field appears on the credit note form.

Sale return reasons themselves are maintained under Sales → Settings → Sale Return Reasons.

Behaviour in the app

On a new Credit Note, Sale Return Reason is pre-filled from the user’s default.

The user can still change the reason before saving (unless defaults/visibility restrict it).

If the selected reason has Is Return To Return Center enabled, shipping/inventory uses the user’s default Sale Return Center (falls back to Inventory Center when Sale Return Center is not set).

Editing an existing draft keeps the reason already saved on that document — the default applies to new documents only.

Why it helps

Field teams often use the same return reason. Prefilling it avoids picking the reason on every return and keeps return reporting consistent.
