Standard master-data list actions. On supported transactions, users update secondary status from the more menu (Update Secondary Status) when they have Secondary Status access. History appears on the Secondary Status sidebar tab where the transaction view includes it.

Opportunity

Use Transaction Type = Opportunity for CRM deal stages (for example Qualified, Negotiation, Proposal Sent) and enquiry mid-flow stages such as Open and Checking in Mill. Enquiry automation sets Checking in Mill when Stock Status is Check in Mill, and returns to Open after Mill Stock or Alternative. See Opportunity — Enquiry desk.

Secondary status does not replace primary opportunity status (Approved / Closed / Lost). Use Mark Lost or Close for outcome; use secondary status for sales-stage tracking.

FAQ

What is Secondary Status vs primary status?

Primary status is Draft/Approved/Cancelled lifecycle (plus Lost/Closed where applicable). Secondary status is an extra label for internal tracking without changing posting.

Which modules use secondary status?

See Supported Transaction Types — sale and purchase documents, production orders, and opportunities.

Does secondary status block approval?

No. It is informational unless paired with custom workflow rules outside this master.

Can I filter lists by secondary status?

Yes when the list supports the filter — for example Opportunity Advanced Filter → Secondary Status.

Can I delete a secondary status in use?

Documents may still show the old label until edited — suspend to prevent new use instead of delete when history exists.

How do I set up opportunity pipeline stages?

Create Active Secondary Status rows with Transaction Type = Opportunity, then update them on each opportunity. There is no separate opportunity kanban board.
