<b>Where does profit cost come from?</b><br>
Profit reports use item cost at invoice time and estimated margins from <a href="#/sales/estimated-cost-margin">Estimated Cost Margin</a> where configured. Sale-related expenses recorded on the invoice also affect bill-wise profit.

<b>Which report should I use for invoice-level margin?</b><br>
<a href="#/sales/reports/profit-bill-report">Bill Wise Profit Report</a> for header totals. <a href="#/sales/reports/profit-bill-item-report">Bill Item Wise Profit Report</a> when you need line-level margin on each invoice.

<b>What is Order Wise Profit Summary used for?</b><br>
<a href="#/sales/reports/order-wise-profit-summary">Order Wise Profit Summary</a> estimates profit on open or approved sale orders before invoicing — useful for deal review, not final accounts.

<b>Why is profit zero or missing for some lines?</b><br>
Check that the item has a cost or estimated margin. FOC lines and certain export documents may show reference value without margin. You need profit report access to open these screens.

<b>How is this different from Sale Report?</b><br>
Sale Report shows revenue and tax. Profit reports subtract cost (and expenses where included) to show margin by bill, item, customer, or employee.
