Report title in ERP: <b>Bill Item Wise Profit Report</b>

<p><b>What it shows.</b> Each item line on sale invoices with sale amount, actual cost, profit amount, profit percentage, and bill header details. Loss lines appear on a pink label.</p>

<p><b>When to use it.</b> Use for granular profit analysis at the item line level — more detailed than Bill Wise Profit Report.</p>

<p><b>How amounts are calculated.</b> Profit = Sale amount minus actual cost per item line. Actual cost comes from the inventory costing method.</p>

<p><b>Returns.</b> This report reads sale invoice item lines only—returns (credit notes) are <b>not</b> netted here. For margin after returns, use the <a href="#/sales/reports/profit-item-report">Item Wise Profit Report</a> (net profit) or <a href="#/sales/reports/profit-bill-report">Bill Wise Profit Report</a> (return amount/cost per bill).</p>

<h2 id="faq">FAQ</h2>

<p><b>How is this different from Bill Wise Profit Report?</b><br>Bill Wise Profit Report shows one row per invoice. This report expands each invoice into item-line profit detail.</p>
<p><b>Why are some lines pink?</b><br>Pink labels indicate a loss — sale amount is less than actual cost.</p>
<p><b>Where does actual cost come from?</b><br>From the inventory costing method (FIFO, average, etc.) at the time of sale.</p>
<p><b>Do I need special permission?</b><br>Yes. Your user role must include access to profit reports.</p>
<p><b>Why is line profit negative?</b><br>Discount, under-cost sale, or missing estimated margin on the item. Check <a href="#/sales/estimated-cost-margin">Estimated Cost Margin</a>.</p>
<p><b>Are returns deducted here?</b><br>No. This report shows sale invoice item-line profit only; credit notes/returns are not netted. Use the <a href="#/sales/reports/profit-item-report">Item Wise</a> or <a href="#/sales/reports/profit-bill-report">Bill Wise</a> Profit Report for margin after returns.</p>

<p><b>How is this different from Bill Wise Profit?</b><br><a href="#/sales/reports/profit-bill-report">Bill Wise Profit Report</a> is header total. This report is line-level on each invoice.</p>
