# Order Wise Profit Summary
Profit analysis linked to sale orders — estimated or actual profit per order with sale value, cost, and margin for order-level profitability tracking.

Report title in ERP: Order Wise Profit Summary
What it shows. Each sale order with order number, customer, sale amount, cost, profit amount, profit percentage, and fulfillment status.
When to use it. Use to assess order-level profitability before or after fulfillment, and compare estimated vs actual profit on orders.
How amounts are calculated. Profit based on order line sale values minus item costs. Actual profit uses invoiced amounts; estimated uses order values before invoicing.

- Pre-invoice review — Check order margin before approving fulfillment on low-margin orders.
- Sales approval workflow — Flag orders below minimum profit threshold for manager approval.
- Order portfolio analysis — Compare profit across orders for a customer or employee.
- Fulfillment vs profit — Track whether delivered orders maintained expected margins after invoicing.

FAQ
Is profit estimated or actual?
Estimated on open orders using order values. Actual once linked invoices are posted.
Why is profit negative?
Sale price is below item cost — shown on a pink label if configured.
Do I need profit report access?
Yes. Your user role must include access to profit reports, same as other profit reports.
How is this different from Bill Wise Profit Report?
Bill Wise Profit Report is invoice-based. This report ties profit to the originating sale order.
Is this final profit?
Estimated from order rates and costs — final margin is on Bill Wise Profit Report after invoice.
Which orders appear?
Approved sale orders in the filter. Draft orders have no reliable fulfilment profit.
