FAQ

Why does a credit note still show as open?
The credit note has not been fully applied to invoices or refunded. Partial application leaves a remaining open balance.

Can I apply multiple credit notes to one invoice?
Yes, where your workflow supports it—apply each open credit note against the customer's outstanding invoices.

Will applied credit notes disappear from this report?
Yes. Once fully applied or refunded, the credit note no longer appears as open.

How is this different from Customer Outstanding?
Open Credit Notes lists only unapplied credit notes. Customer Outstanding includes all unpaid receivables and other open items.

What is an open credit note?
Approved credit note with unapplied balance not yet offset against invoices or refunded.

How do I clear open credits?
Use Adjust Invoices on the credit note to set off the same customer's open invoices, or use Payment Out for a customer refund.
