# Customer Item Group Wise Sale

<p class="doc-lead">Aggregates sale invoice lines by customer and item group — view category-level sales per customer in a matrix (column-wise) or detail (row-wise) layout.</p>

<h2 id="overview">Overview</h2>

Go to <b>Sales → Customer Reports → Customer Item Group Wise Sale</b>.

Report title in ERP: <b>Customer Wise Item Group Wise Sale</b>

<p><b>What it shows.</b> Sale activity grouped by customer and item group for the selected date range. Use <b>Column Wise</b> for a customer × item group matrix, or <b>Row Wise</b> for one line per customer and item group with quantity and amount columns.</p>

<p><b>When to use it.</b> Category-level account analysis when you need a higher-level view than individual SKUs — e.g. which product groups each key account buys.</p>

<p><b>How amounts are calculated.</b> Aggregates approved sale invoice item lines (<b>status</b> posted or pre-approved) by customer and item group within the selected date range. <b>Value Total</b> uses taxable line amount; <b>Bill Total</b> uses line total including tax.</p>

<h2 id="filters">Filters</h2>

<p><b>Header (quick filters)</b></p>

<li><b>Date</b> — date range for sale invoices.</li>

<p><b>Advanced Filter</b> (filter icon) — additional fields:</p>

<li><b>Form Type</b></li>
<li><b>Zone</b> *(when zone access is enabled)*</li>
<li><b>Branch</b> *(when multiple branch is enabled)*</li>
<li><b>Employee</b> — limits results to sale invoices for the selected employee. Lists employees shown in the <b>Sale</b> module. Respects user-level employee data filters for the sale module.</li>
</ul>

<p>Employee is available only in <b>Advanced Filter</b> (not in the header) to keep the toolbar compact.</p>

<p>Tap <b>clear</b> after applying Advanced Filter to reset all advanced filters including employee.</p>

<h3 id="column-wise">Column Wise (default)</h3>

<p>Customers appear as rows; item groups appear as column headers. Each cell shows the selected measure for that customer × item group.</p>

<h3 id="row-wise">Row Wise</h3>

<p>One row per customer and item group combination.</p>

| Name | Customer name — click to open customer statement modal. |
| Item Group | Product category name. |
| Quantity | Net quantity sold. |
| Value Total | Taxable amount total. |

<h2 id="faq">FAQ</h2>

<p><b>Where is the employee filter?</b><br>Open <b>Advanced Filter</b> (filter icon) and select <b>Employee</b>. It is not shown in the header to save toolbar space.</p>

<p><b>Why don't I see some employees in the filter?</b><br>User employee data filters for the <b>Sale</b> module may restrict which employees appear. See <a href="#/settings/user-management">User Management</a> → employee filters.</p>

<p><b>Can I see item detail within a group?</b><br>Use <a href="#/sales/reports/customer-item-wise-sale">Customer Item Wise Sale</a> filtered by customer and item group.</p>

<p><b>How is this different from Item Group Wise Performance?</b><br>Item Group Wise Performance is under Employee Reports and focuses on employee targets. This report is customer-centric.</p>

<p><b>Need the same item-group columns by day instead of customer?</b><br>Use <a href="#/sales/reports/day-wise-item-group-wise-sale">Day Wise Item Group Wise Sale</a>.</p>

<p><b>Can I see both customer and item group on one row?</b><br>Yes — use <b>Row Wise</b> layout, or <b>Column Wise</b> for a matrix view.</p>

<p><b>When is this useful?</b><br>Category reviews with key accounts — e.g. dairy vs beverage performance per supermarket chain, or reviewing one salesperson's category mix across customers.</p>
