# Item Group Wise State Wise Order
Cross-tab of purchase order quantities and amounts by item group and delivery or billing state. Use it to analyze regional demand patterns and category-wise procurement across locations.
Overview
Go to Purchase → Order Reports → Item Group Wise State Wise Order.
What it shows. Rows grouped by item group with quantity and amount columns for each state, plus Others for uncategorized locations and Total for the group overall.
When to use it. Compare regional ordering patterns, plan state-level inventory, and identify which item groups drive spend in specific geographies.
Use Cases
- Regional demand planning — See which states order the most of each item group to align warehouse and distribution.
- Category spend by geography — Compare total amounts across states for a single item group.
- Supply chain optimization — Identify states with high volume in Others and correct address or state master data.

Note: Quantity and amount appear for each state column. Others captures uncategorized orders; Total is the sum for the item group.

FAQ
What determines the state on an order?
State is taken from the delivery or billing address on the purchase order, depending on system configuration.
Why do some amounts appear under Others?
Orders without a valid or mapped state on the address are grouped under Others. Update supplier or center addresses to improve accuracy.
Are quantity and amount shown separately per state?
Yes. Each state column typically includes both quantity and amount metrics for that item group.
Can I compare two item groups side by side?
Each row is one item group. Export to Excel to build custom comparisons across groups or periods.
Which purchase order statuses are included?
Approved and active purchase orders in the period. Cancelled orders are excluded unless the status filter includes them.
Why is my report empty?
No purchase orders match the date range, or item group and branch filters exclude all data.
Does multi-branch change the totals?
Yes. Each branch column shows order quantity and amount for that branch within each state.
