Detailed production module settings — each toggle and field controls default behavior for Production Orders, vouchers, issues, variance limits, and printed documents across the workspace.

Workspace Defaults

Production Voucher

Variance Approval

There is no separate "block variance" toggle. Instead, variance limits above define when approval is allowed without sign-off. When actual output or material usage exceeds the configured limit, the system:

  1. Refuses direct approve on the Production Voucher.
  2. Records variance details (Output Variance %, Output Variance Qty, material deviation breakdown) on the voucher.
  3. Attaches an Approval Template when one exists for document type Production Voucher with approval condition Variance Exceeded.
  4. Requires the multi-level approval workflow to complete before the voucher can be approved and inventory can post.

Setup checklist:

Monitor exceeded limits on Order Wise Variance, Material Usage Variance, and Consolidated Material Usage Variance reports.

Actions

FAQ

Do settings affect existing approved orders?
Most settings affect new transactions or fields shown on forms. Variance limits on existing BOMs keep their own Output Variance Limit unless updated on the BOM.

Why can't I see multi-stage or secondary-status settings?
Some fields appear only when your user role has multi-stage BOM or secondary status access enabled.

Do variance limits block saving a draft voucher?
No — limits are checked on approve. You can save drafts with any quantities; exceeding a limit triggers multi-level approval instead of direct approve.

What if no Approval Template exists for variance?
The voucher still cannot be approved while variance exceeds the limit. Create an Approval Template with approval condition Variance Exceeded for Production Voucher to route sign-off.

Zero quantity orders?
Allow Production with zero quantity lets approve order before quantity is known.

Lock raw materials in PV?
When on, raw material lines on production voucher cannot change after fetch.
