# Item-wise Quality Inspection

<p class="doc-lead">Summarises quality inspection outcomes by item for a period — including pending QC lines, pass/fail rates, and sample quantities. Use it to find items that fail QC or still await inspection.</p>

<h2 id="overview">Overview</h2>

Go to <b>Inventory → Inventory Reports → Item-wise Quality Inspection</b>.

<p><b>What it shows.</b> One row per item that had at least one quality inspection <i>or</i> a pending QC line in the selected period. Columns include inspection count, pending/passed/failed/draft/cancelled counts, pass rate %, sample quantity total, and the last inspection date. Rows with failures are highlighted in red. Rows are ordered with higher pending and failure counts first. The footer totals all items in the result.</p>

<p><b>When to use it.</b> Use it to spot chronic failing items and follow up with purchase, production, or template changes. Drill into detail with <a href="#/inventory/reports/bill-wise-quality-inspection">Bill-wise Quality Inspection</a> filtered by item.</p>

<h2 id="use-cases">Use Cases</h2>

<ul>
<li><b>QC / product quality</b> — Which items fail most often this month? Generate and review items with high <b>Failed</b> or low <b>Pass Rate %</b>.</li>
<li><b>Purchase</b> — Are inbound items from receipt notes failing? Filter by <b>Transaction Type</b> = Receipt Note.</li>
<li><b>Category owner</b> — How is an item group performing? Use <b>Advanced Filter</b> → <b>Item Group</b>.</li>
<li><b>Manager</b> — What is overall pass rate across items? Read the footer <b>Pass Rate</b>.</li>

<b>Date</b> (date range), <b>Item</b>. <b>Advanced Filter</b>: Transaction Type, Item Group, Status (QC Pending / Draft / Passed / Failed / Cancelled).

| Inspections | Total inspections and pending QC lines for the item in the period. |
| Pending | Count of source lines still awaiting QC (no QI started yet). |
| Passed | Count of passed inspections. |
| Failed | Count of failed inspections (highlighted). |
| Draft | Count of draft inspections. |
| Cancelled | Count of cancelled inspections. |
| Pass Rate % | Passed ÷ (Passed + Failed), as a percentage. Red when there are failures. |
| Sample Qty | Sum of sample quantities. |
| Last Inspection | Most recent inspection date for the item in the period. |

<h2 id="faq">FAQ</h2>

<p><b>How is Pass Rate % calculated?</b><br>Passed inspections ÷ (Passed + Failed). Draft and cancelled inspections are not included in the rate.</p>

<p><b>Why are some items missing?</b><br>Only items with at least one quality inspection or pending QC line in the date range (and matching filters) appear.</p>

<p><b>How do I see the individual inspections for an item?</b><br>Open <a href="#/inventory/reports/bill-wise-quality-inspection">Bill-wise Quality Inspection</a>, select the same item and period, and generate.</p>

<p><b>Can I limit to failed inspections only?</b><br>Yes. Use <b>Advanced Filter</b> → <b>Status</b> = Failed. Then each item row reflects only failed inspections in that filter.</p>

<p><b>Why is my report empty?</b><br>No quality inspections match the date range and filters.</p>

<p><b>Why does the date range fail validation?</b><br>This report allows about 12 months maximum. Shorten the date range if validation fails.</p>
