# Dead Stock Report

Lists items that have not been sold since a chosen date, with the quantity still held and how long it has been sitting. Use it to spot slow-moving and non-moving stock that ties up money and shelf space.

Overview

Go to Inventory → Inventory Reports → Dead Stock Report.

What it shows. One row per item that has not been sold since the date set in Item Not Sold Since. Each row shows the item code, unit, brand, the quantity still in stock, the date it was last sold and its age (how long since the last sale). Turn on Show Value to add the unit value and total stock value. Click a row to open the item's transaction history.

When to use it. Use it to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock before stock counts, clearance decisions, or year-end provisioning.

Use Cases

Inventory controller — Which items haven't sold in the last 6 months and how much stock is stuck? Set Item Not Sold Since and review the Age column.
Finance / store manager — How much money is locked in non-moving stock? Turn on Show Value to see the total value of dead stock.
Purchase manager — Which brands or item groups carry the most dead stock so I can stop reordering them? Filter by Brand or Item Group.
Branch in-charge — What is sitting idle at my center? Filter by Center before generating.

Filters

Item Not Sold Since (the cut-off date; items with no sale since this date are listed), Item type (All Items, Raw Materials, Sellable Goods, Producible Goods, Packing Materials), Status (Status-All, Suspended, Active). Advanced Filter: Item Group, Center, Brand.

FAQ

What does "dead stock" mean here?
It is stock that has had no sale since the date you set in Item Not Sold Since. Items are still in stock but have not moved.

How do I change the period?
Change the Item Not Sold Since date and generate again. An item is listed if it has had no sale on or after that date.

How do I see the value tied up in dead stock?
Turn on Show Value. A unit value and a total stock value are added, with a total at the bottom.

Why is an item missing from the list?
If the item was sold on or after the chosen date, it is not dead stock and is excluded. Adjust the date or the item type, status, and advanced filters.

Does dead stock include purchase-only items?
Items with no sale activity since the cutoff but with on-hand stock appear. The report keys off sale movement, not purchase receipts.

Why is my report empty?
Every in-stock item had a sale on or after the Item Not Sold Since date, or filters exclude all rows.

Can I act on dead stock from here?
Use the list to plan promotions, transfers, or write-offs via Inventory Adjustment after review.
