Global Search lets you jump to any screen, open a transaction by bill number, look up a customer or item, run a filtered report, or do a quick calculation — from anywhere in Freespace using CTRL + K (or ⌘ + K on Mac) or CTRL + SPACE.

After you pick a result, the report opens with that customer, supplier, item, or account already selected.

Starting with = is useful when you want a calculation without matching screens. Click a calculator result to **copy the answer** to the clipboard. The search box stays open so you can continue calculating.

The result shows the converted amount and the implied cross rate (for example 1 USD = 83 INR). Click the row to **copy** the converted number.

Clicking an error row opens Currency settings (when you have access). Base currency is always treated as rate 1.
How do I open Global Search?
Press CTRL + K (or ⌘ + K on Mac), press CTRL + SPACE, or click the search icon in the top bar.
Why does nothing show for a screen I know exists?
Global Search only lists screens and documents your user role can access. Ask an administrator to grant the missing permission.
How do I open Sale Invoice list quickly?
Open Global Search, then type SIL or sale invoice list.
How do I open Item Transactions quickly?
Type it or item transactions. To look up an item record instead, use it:#item code#.
How do I find a specific Sale Invoice by number?
Type si:#your bill number# — for example si:#123# for partial match or si:#SI-2024-001# for a full number.
Can I open a result in a new tab?
Yes. Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and click the result, or use the new-tab icon on the row. This works for navigation screens and most quick actions. New-document dialogs and transaction view modals still open in the current window.
Where is help for search formats?
Type ? or / in the search box for shortcuts and examples.
Can I convert currencies in Global Search?
Yes, if multi-currency is enabled. Type 100 USD to INR. Results use the exchange rates configured in the system under Settings → Currency (not live market rates). If a rate is missing, Global Search tells you to set it there.
Does Global Search work offline?
Navigation and quick actions work offline. Transaction and entity lookups need a connection to search server data.
